Aussie Author Month

April is Aussie Author Month. The aim is to feature bestselling and upcoming Australian authors and get readers, bloggers and booksellers to highlight their favourite Australian books.
Pages & Pages will have a feature wall all month displaying our favourite Aussie authors. We are also running a competition on our Facebook Page asking readers to share the favourite Australian books and we will be giving away a special leather-bound edition of Peter Carey’s PARROT & OLIVIER and a special anniversary edition of Kate Grenville’s LILLIAN’S STORY. I have reviewed my all-time favourite Australian novel THE WHITE EARTH by Andrew McGahan to get things started.
To get the ball rolling you can find all the Australian books I have reviewed on this blog here
You can also check out all the Twitter activity around Aussie Author Month at #ausbooks
Part of Aussie Author Month will also be to promote donations to the Indigenous Literacy Project. The ILP is a charity whose aim is to raise literacy levels among Indigenous Australians in rural and remote communities. The ILP works in partnership with the Australian Book Industry and the Fred Hollows Foundation. You can donate to ILP here
